New UI Control Guidelines to Upgrade Your Wireframes
Hello friends of Balsamiq!
We’re excited to present to you a big project that kept the Balsamiq Education team busy for months. It’s the UI Control Guidelines Library, 40 extensive articles about almost every user interface control you may need to design your wireframes: from the most common elements (buttons, dropdown menus, checkboxes…) to the most specific ones (pickers, charts, scrollbars…).
For each control you’ll find A TON of information:
All the different styles and when to use what state (selected, disabled, etc.):
Best practices and tips:
Dozens of visual examples of dos and don’ts:
Variations and Symbols you can create in Balsamiq:
Useful animated gifs that show you how to do things in Balsamiq. See for example how to make your buttons always neat and tidy:
We hope that you’ll appreciate the mix of theory and practice!
The author of this massive work is UI Designer Tess Gadd. She did a wonderful job and we couldn’t be happier to have had her work on this project for us!
